Red Beet Records - This feisty independent label puts out my music and some wonderful albums by Last Train Home, Fayssoux McLean and others. Check out their East Nashville compilations, which feature fine folks like Todd Snider, Phil Lee and Jon Byrd.
Lloyd Green - Lloyd Green is, to my mind, the greatest musician alive. He's also my collaborator, and I like him so much I named my latest solo album after him (The Lloyd Green Album). This page has plenty of information about Lloyd. Hear sound clips from his best solos and get information about the more than 100 No. 1 country songs on which he's played.
Last Train Home - Red Beet co-owner (I think that makes him my boss) Eric Brace's fine band.
Tom T. Hall - Tom T. and Kris Kristofferson changed the language of country music. Lately, I've been at Tom T.'s studio with Buddy Miller, Patty Griffin, Duane Eddy, Bobby Bare and plenty of other notables, recording a Tom T. tribute that'll be out in 2011.
Todd Snider - Todd is the person most responsible for getting me out on tour and into the recording studio. He's also a mind-blowingly great singer, songwriter and performer.
Kris Kristofferson - I've recorded Kristofferson songs on three recent albums. He's as good a person as he is a songwriter. And he's an awfully good songwriter, as you already know.
Fayssoux - I produced Fayssoux's debut album, which includes guest shots from Emmylou Harris, Ricky Skaggs and other greats.
House of David - Unbelievably groovy recording studio. Neil Young, Steve Forbert, Norah Jones, Roy Orbison, B.B. King and Billy Joe Shaver have worked here, and I have now recorded five albums at House of David with studio operator/ace engineer Richard McLaurin. Highly recommended.
Eric Taylor - I've covered two of Eric's songs, and the recent Eric Brace & Peter Cooper album, Master Sessions, features a song I wrote in large part about Eric.
Chris Richards - On The Lloyd Green Album, you'll hear Kim Carnes harmonizing with me on a favorite Chris Richards song called "Bells of Odilia." Chris is also a great friend, and a brother Elk (Sheboygan #299!).
Jim McGuire - McGuire took the cover portraits for Master Sessions and The Lloyd Green Album, and for decades he has photographed American music's finest artists. His shots of John Prine, Johnny Cash, Bill Monroe, John Hartford, Kris Kristofferson, Guy Clark and many others are legendary. You can order prints through this site.
